Line Outs
If you are looking at having your vehicle lined out, you may find that there are various companies offering a line out service. However, you will also find that the prices vary drastically and that the quality varies even more drastically.
Exploria has years of experience in lining out vehicles, using a range of materials. With an Exploria line out you will not find any cuts around difficult areas, unlike those of some of our competitors. The glue that we use is not that of an aerosol, which the majority of our competitors use. The benefit of using a non-aerosol glue is that the glue is much stronger due to the fact that it doesn’t require dilution to allow the spraying of the glue through an aerosol nozzle. It also allows us to cover much larger areas at least five times faster than using aerosol glue. This allows the two materials to be bonded together in sufficient time, before the glue begins to lose contact. The greatest benefit of using our method is that in years to come, the lining material will still be stuck in the same position.
All of our line outs have all areas of steel covered and finished at rubber edges. We offer a wide range of lining materials, including durable carpet, leathers, vinyls and alcantara.
Exploria is one of the only companies in the UK who manufacture their own window surrounds to ensure that the finishing around the window apertures is the very best. Again, you will find that many of our competitors finish with a cut fabric edge or try to finish with a know on rubber edging, which tends to look unfinished.
Flooring
In order to ensure a high quality finish, we use a one piece floor. This is not the cheapest option but allows a completely level floor without any ripples which can occur where there is a joint in the timber. A one piece floor also needs fewer fixings. The fixing down of the plywood is contained within chassis members, which means no screws can be seen under the floor plan – this reduces any under floor damage and also reduces any rusting problems. Most importantly our customers don’t want to see screws piercing the floor of their van.
Once the plywood floor has been laid, we then overlay it with an altro based flooring material. The flooring material is bonded with an industrial strength glue, to allow years of trouble free performance. We do not use lino as a flooring material, as lino is easily damaged. Lino is a favourite of many conversion companies as it is very easy to fit. We would not recommend using lino, as once seats or units are mounted on it, it is difficult and expensive to replace. The altro based flooring is one of the strongest flooring materials available in the market. It is very robust, is non-slip and is available in various colours. If comparing prices, please bear in mind that altro flooring is four times as expensive to buy and takes longer to fit than lino, as it is difficult to handle and difficult to cut to fit. However, the benefits and durability of altro flooring far outweigh the extra expense. Once the altro flooring is laid, we seal the edges to finish and seal the floor.
Prior to lining a van out we would always recommend soundproofing and insulation – Please follow the link to see what we can offer.
